WideOrbit Programmatic Radio Beta Program Kicks Off with Spanish Broadcasting System

US Hispanic media company will offer ad inventory via WO Programmatic – Digital

SAN FRANCISCO, April 10, 2015 WideOrbit Inc., the leading provider of advertising management software for media companies, announced that Spanish Broadcasting System (SBS), the largest publicly-traded Hispanic-controlled media and entertainment company in the United States, is the first media company to join WideOrbit’s programmatic radio beta program. SBS will make its digital inventory available to brands, agencies and leading demand-side platforms like The Trade Desk through WideOrbit’s WO Programmatic Digital sell-side exchange, the radio industry’s only fully automated solution that matches digital audio ad inventory with buyers using software from leading digital demand side platforms. WideOrbit’s programmatic digital audio solution, combining WO Programmatic Digital and WO Streaming, allows stations to transact inventory through direct selling channels, ad network partners, and programmatic technology from a single solution.

SBS’s participation in WideOrbit’s programmatic radio beta program enables advertisers to reach SBS’s highly qualified Hispanic audience inside and outside of their local markets with the same tools they already use to purchase programmatic advertising in other digital mediums. The program will include 13 of SBS’s owned and operated radio stations, including the United States’ #1 Spanish language station WSKQ-FM New York.

“We are thrilled to make our highly qualified Hispanic audience available through WO Programmatic – Digital and work with WideOrbit to build the future of radio revenue generation,” said Jesus Lara, EVP, Digital Media of Spanish Broadcasting Systems. “WO Programmatic – Digital gives SBS a new way to realize the full value of our streaming audiences by giving advertisers direct and targeted access to our large Hispanic audience through demand-side platforms. By adding programmatic to our direct sales efforts, we expect WO Programmatic – Digital will deliver incremental revenue from our unsold inventory in the most efficient way possible.”

“WideOrbit’s pilot program allows us to offer digital audio and Spanish-language audio inventory to our customers for the first time,” said Mike Davis, GM of Product at The Trade Desk. “As a multichannel platform, we are proud to add audio to the range of paths our clients and their advertisers can use to reach highly qualified audiences, in this case SBS’ Hispanic American listeners. For many advertisers, audio is a crucial part of the marketing mix and our partnership with WideOrbit makes it possible.”

“We couldn’t be happier to work with a visionary media company like Spanish Broadcasting Company to help us extend our programmatic radio offering,” said Eric R. Mathewson, Founder and CEO, WideOrbit. “WO Programmatic – Digital will help SBS grow its revenue by making its digital inventory easily accessible to top agencies and brands.”

WideOrbit will demonstrate WO Programmatic – Digital and WO Streaming, its software for managing and monetizing digital streams, as part of its comprehensive platform for media companies to maximize revenue and streamline operations at the 2015 NAB Show, Booths N5229 and N5829 in the North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center, April 12-16.
