Acquisition Advances Leadership Position and Expands North American Footprint

San Francisco, November 1, 2010 – WideOrbit Inc., the leading provider of business management software for media companies, today announced that it has acquired the Orion® Business System assets of privately held VCI Solutions, a leading provider of sales and traffic software solutions for the broadcast and cable industry. The acquisition strengthens WideOrbit’s leadership position and expands its presence in North America.

“We’re very excited about the VCI acquisition and the opportunity it provides us to expand our TV and cable network client base in North America,” said Nathan Gans, Chief Operating Officer of WideOrbit. “Right now, however, we are very focused on fine-tuning support of our new ex-VCI customers. We are fortunate that nineteen former VCI staff members have chosen to join the WideOrbit team to ensure that our support infrastructure will be able to handle our increased customer base. WideOrbit was built on excellent customer service and we plan on continuing to earn that reputation.”

WideOrbit welcomes previous VCI clients including CNBC, MSNBC, Bravo, Univision, Galavision, Telelatino, Comcast Sports, BET, NY1, Hallmark Channel, WWE, Universal Sports Networks, NHL Network, Outdoor Channel, NECN, CTV- Canada, ReelzChannel, Altitude Sports, Freedom Communications, Granite Communications, Newport Television and more than 200 other high quality cable networks and TV stations to the WideOrbit family of customers.

“WideOrbit serves as the ‘system of record’ for more than $14 billion in annual advertising spending in North America and around the globe,” said Eric R. Mathewson, Founder and CEO of WideOrbit. “We are working hard on our mission to make it easier to buy and sell advertising. The acquisition of VCI helps us build incremental critical mass towards the goal of increasing efficiencies when buying and selling advertising.”

As part of the transaction, WideOrbit will be opening another support office in Springfield, Massachusetts, home of the former headquarters of VCI Solutions.
