Flush Queue in Local Automation leaves queue window empty if underscheduled

Maestro 3.3.6 introduced the $ Flush Queue for Local Automation. If Maestro is under-scheduled, timing to a $LR, when the last cart goes to the playline, the queue is left active but empty. If Maestro is left alone it will load the queue at the end of the cart that is playing. If, however, the queue is deactivated sometime during the playback of the last cart, Maestro won't load up the next directive until the queue is re-activated.
