WideOrbit Installs 750th Station and Network and Adds Innovative Upgrades to its WO Traffic Software
(San Francisco, CA April 12, 2007) WideOrbit Inc. announces the installation of its software solution in more than 750 stations and networks. Five years ago, WideOrbit was installed in only 16 stations. Additionally, WideOrbit has just released the newest version of its WO Traffic software system. WO Traffic 4.4 includes innovative features allowing for even more flexibility and customization for analytics, budgeting, order implementation and general reporting.
WideOrbit the leading Sales, Traffic and Billing advertising infrastructure software solution for the media industry in North America and growing worldwide, is currently implemented by television stations, radio stations, cable networks, movie theaters, mobile, and digital displays. WO Traffic is installed in more stations and networks than any other available advertising software system.
“What makes our announcement significant is that just this past August we announced our 500th station and network. It took us four years to reach 500 and just 8 months later we’ve increased that number by 50%. The finest broadcasters in North America have consistently chosen WideOrbit upon contract expiration. Our competition has been reduced to competing largely based upon price. TV and Radio Broadcasters who do the slimmest of due diligence quickly find that WideOrbit is committed to providing superior products and service,” said Eric Mathewson, Founder and CEO of WideOrbit.
WideOrbit is committed to providing an unsurpassed client experience and continued support. To that end, support is provided 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. WO Traffic was designed by broadcasters, and WideOrbit understands that its users are the best source of ideas about how to make the system even better. As a result, and the majority of product upgrades are suggested by clients.
In addition to real-time, flexible reporting, multi-media/platform capabilities, roll-up reporting, the ability to track and respond to pending business, as well as monitor market and station CPP tolerances, WO Traffic 4.4 includes enhancements for both television and radio product versions.
More than 15 additions are included in WO Traffic 4.4 for television. Most significantly in the areas of analysis, pacing and order copying:
- Improved Options for Year-to-Year Revenue Analysis: Allows users to see year-to-year comparison by date range, month, quarter, and/or total year, including booked revenue, sellout, and average rate in a dynamic, flexible report. Previously available in separate reports, users can now see this information aggregated in a single view.
- Consolidate View of Individual AE Budgets: In additional to pacing by program and revenue category Sales Managers can now pace by Account Executive.
- Copy Orders to a New Station: For multi-station groups, AE's can copy an order from one station to create a duplicate order for another station via a simple right-click menu option.
For WO Traffic 4.4 for Radio additional reporting, order importation and invoicing functionalities have been added:
- Average Unit Rate Report: Allows users to see average unit rate in several different ways including: daypart, advertisers, product code, station, cluster, and AE.
- Interfaces with Interrep: Allows orders coming from reps to be imported electronically into the WideOrbit traffic system through the same approval process of other orders including local agency and local direct orders.
- Orders+: Allows multi-station orders to be entered and invoiced with greater ease than many of the older legacy traffic systems.
- Consolidated Reporting: Allows real-time information to be viewed instantly by an entire group, a cluster, or for each station. The Consolidated Reporting is built into the system and is useful for Traffic Managers, Business Managers, Sales Managers, General Managers, and corporate personnel including CFO’s, COO’s, and CEO’s.
“Many companies decide what’s going to be included in future upgrades well in advance. This doesn’t generally allow for the inclusion of functionalities that are important to customers,” says Nathan Gans, Chief Operating Officer at WideOrbit. “We review customer requests on an ongoing basis which gives us the flexibility to decide which version makes the most sense to add functionality requests. As a result our clients can be using requested upgrades in a matter of months versus a year or more.”
