WideOrbit live with more than
400 television stations
(San Francisco, CA April 18, 2006) – WideOrbit Inc. is pleased to announce that its industry leading Research, Proposer, Sales, Traffic and Billing software solution has been installed in more than 400 television stations, radio stations and cable networks
Four years ago, WO Traffic was installed in six television stations.
Today, there are now more than 400 stations and cable networks relying upon WideOrbit’s WO Traffic as their trusted and secure backbone financial management system. WideOrbit now has more television stations installed on the WO Traffic software platform than any traffic software competitor in the US or North America. More than 80 broadcast groups have selected WideOrbit for all or a portion of their stations or networks.
During the past four years, television stations and cable networks contracting with WideOrbit have replaced 238 Traffic solutions offered by Harris/Encoda Systems and 19 systems installed by VCI. Reasons cited for selecting WideOrbit range from clients trying to modernize their financial backbone to the desire for responsive customer service from their traffic provider. More than 50 start-ups have also selected WideOrbit in addition to stations and networks replacing proprietary systems. “WO Traffic continues to outperform as the dominant system chosen by the most successful broadcasters,” said Eric Mathewson, Founder and CEO of WideOrbit. This past year has been one of tremendous growth for WideOrbit with revenues growing more than 220% year over year. “We continue to work extremely hard to keep each and every WideOrbit client happy using our systems,” said Bruce Roberts, President of WideOrbit. “We are very encouraged by the continued enthusiastic comments from our WideOrbit Users about how our software is helping them make better decisions in how to operate and price their stations and networks.”
WO Traffic provides broadcast television professionals with patent-pending inventory management and pricing tools as well as centralized reporting features. It has been demonstrated that WO Traffic helps stations decrease their operating costs, increase revenue, and improve station efficiency. WO Traffic includes such features as advertiser profiles, station blueprints, market blueprints, User friendly revenue reports, and accounting management tools. These unique tools have been automated within the WideOrbit software offerings to provide sales and management personnel with real-time market information, allowing them to make better sales decisions.
