WideOrbit introduces WO Promo

(San Francisco, CA) March 28, 2005 – WideOrbit Inc. is pleased to announce a new Television promotional inventory optimization tool called WO Promo.

WO Promo is a native module of WO Traffic, WideOrbit’s core Traffic, Sales and Billing system.

There are now more than 260 stations and cable networks relying upon WideOrbit’s WO Traffic as their trusted and secure backbone financial management system. All of these stations will have the ability to utilize WO Promo with the release of WO Traffic 4.2 in April.

Typically broadcasters and cable networks spend at least 15% of their available inventory on promotional spots designed to draw viewers to their programming. WO Promo is designed to optimize the selection, placement, reach, frequency and demographic targeting of that promotional inventory.

“If stations spend 15% of their inventory on promotional spots and this inventory represents an opportunity cost of 15% of gross revenue, then misplacing promotional inventory by only 10% can result in a 2-5% reduction in gross profit,” stated Eric R. Mathewson, Founder and CEO of WideOrbit. Mathewson further stated that “The correct placement of promotional inventory is critical. With the introduction of WO Promo, WideOrbit clients will be able to optimize the placement of promotional inventory in an intelligent, user-friendly manner.”

Bruce Roberts, President of WideOrbit said, “Broadcasters have needed a leading edge toolset to help manage promotional inventory for a long time. We are eager to offer WO Promo to our entire client base to help them manage this critical element of their inventory.”

WO Traffic, WideOrbit’s core Traffic solution, provides broadcast television professionals with patent pending inventory management and pricing tools as well as centralized reporting features. It has been demonstrated that WO Traffic helps stations decrease their operating costs, increase revenue, and improve station efficiency. WO Traffic includes such features as advertiser profiles, station blueprints, market blueprints, User friendly revenue reports, and accounting management Tools. These unique tools have been automated within the WideOrbit software offerings to provide sales and management personnel with real-time, market information, allowing them to make better sales decisions.

WideOrbit will be demonstrating WO Traffic 4.2, WO Sales+, WO Promo and WO Automation at the Bellagio during NAB/Vegas . To arrange an appointment to see a demonstration, please contact Bruce Roberts, President of WideOrbit at 415 675 6721 or broberts@wideorbit.com.
