WideOrbit announces the development of WO Sales+, a native, state of the art, research and proposal system

(San Francisco, CA) April 9, 2004 –  WideOrbit Inc. is pleased to announce the development of WO Sales+, a native, state of the art, fully integrated Research and Proposal system. WO Sales+ will be demonstrated at the Bellagio during NAB in Las Vegas and formally released in August 2004.

WideOrbit has been working on WO Sales+ for more than a year and has developed a Television broadcast research and proposal module that is native to WideOrbit’s WO Traffic Traffic Sales and Billing System. WideOrbit has had a Research and Proposer system targeted for development since inception of the company in 1999. It never made any sense that they were separate systems. Traffic systems should have always had a native Research and Sales component, but unfortunately that is not how the media software industry evolved.

Broadcasters will no longer have to cobble together disparate software systems to transact an efficient internal workflow to sell advertising spots at their stations or networks. Several competing software vendors have talked about ‘integrated’ systems for years, but have fallen woefully short in features and ease of use whenever they have attempted to combine a Traffic software system with a separate research-proposer software system.

WideOrbit is building WO Sales+ on the existing WideOrbit WO Traffic platform with the same development team that built the wildly successful WO Traffic Traffic, sales and billing product. WO Sales+ is compliant with the AAAA’s, ANA and TVB standards including AD-ID, CPE fields (client product estimate fields) and many other emerging standards. WO Sales+ also integrates all appropriate Nielson ratings data.

The response from WideOrbit clients who have seen early versions of WO Sales+ has been very enthusiastic. More than 15 stations and cable networks have already selected WO Sales+ as their research and proposal system prior to its completion and official launch. Client contract announcements will be made late summer 2004 as the product is released.

Like WO Traffic, WideOrbit’s core Traffic, sales and billing system, broadcasters and cable networks can operate in a variety of architectures to maximize operational efficiencies while using WO Sales+. Broadcasters can operate hubs, centralize databases for real-time group reporting, operate duopolies without incremental traffic and support staffing, or efficiently operate a single, stand-alone broadcast station; all using WO Sales+.

WO Sales+ also provides broadcast television professionals with patent pending inventory management and pricing tools as well as centralized reporting features. This will help stations and cable networks decrease their operating costs, increase revenue, and improve efficiency. WO Sales+ includes such features as advertiser profiles, station blueprints, market blueprints, user friendly revenue reports, and accounting management tools.

These unique tools have been automated within WideOrbit software offerings to provide sales and management personnel with real-time, market information and Nielsen ratings information allowing them to make better sales decisions.

WideOrbit Founder and CEO, Eric Mathewson stated, “WO Sales+ is destined to set a new standard for television and network research and proposal systems. The broadcasting industry should have had a traffic, sales and billing software solution with a native research and proposal system more than twenty years ago. In developing WO Sales+, we leaning heavily on the nearly 400 years of combined station experience of our internal WideOrbit employee team. This core User knowledge has made a tremendous impact on the development of our products and will continue to allow us to make rapid improvements in the future”

WideOrbit President, Bruce Roberts stated, “WO Sales+ has been in design and development for nearly two years. We are very excited about the impact that it will make on our current and future clients.” WideOrbit will be demonstrating WO Traffic 4.0 and WO Sales+ at NAB in Las Vegas. The NAB Las Vegas demonstrations will be held in a private suite at the Bellagio. To arrange an appointment to see a
